Last Friday, my husband went in to the dermatologist for what he thought would be a very minor procedure. A recent biopsy had revealed squamous cell carcinoma on both ears. The doctor started at 10:30 am and didn’t finish until almost 7pm. The cancer was far more extensive than the doctor had anticipated.
Good news is that the cancer is gone.
Unfortunately, so is half of one ear.
So if you ever, ever, ever have a sore that isn’t healing, please get into a doctor immediately.
Oh…and wear sunscreen! Maybe a big hat, too, like a beekeeper’s.
I had some taken off my temple 6 years ago. I had a mole/boil type thing
for several months and finally went in to get it checked & they cut it out
that same day! They go deep, it felt like they were going to dig into my
eye socket. It hasn’t come back so I guess they got it all.
I read your email aloud to my husband because he has very fair skin and has had many lesions burned off already. We are praying for Steve’s recovery. Thanks for reminding us all about suncreen and hats!
