Twin Thieves
Psychologist and Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman determined that the “psychological present” is a window of about three seconds—everything else that runs through our minds is either past or future. An old Penn Dutch proverb seemed to have already figured that out without the supporting data: “Regrets over yesterday and the fear of tomorrow are twin thieves that rob us of the moment.”
