Yesterday’s paper had a small column about the growing list of Hollywood icons who have sworn they will move to another country if John McCain and Sarah Palin are elected.

Sarah Sarandin says she is moving to Italy. Or maybe Canada. She hadn’t decided.

Other actors who are planning to become expatriates: Alec Baldwin. Eddie Vedder. Robert Altman. Barbra Streisand.

Oh my. A wee bit drastic.

It’s wonderful, though, that they have found other countries in which they are in complete agreement over the government’s policies. In which there are no serious problems facing the country that might get their knickers in a twist.

But I do wonder what will happen when they need a root canal and are told they will have to wait six months to see the dentist.
