Starting at six a.m. today, my husband, two sons, and one son-in-law have started their ascent to summit Mt. Shasta.
Thankfully, I’ve been too busy to be worried. I have two gigantic dogs as houseguests, in addition to my own dog and my Guide Dog for the Blind puppy-in- training. These dogs are such “enthusiastic” greeters that they scared off a seasoned electrician at the door the other day.
Other houseguests, the human kind, are due in today.
Still…whenever there’s a quiet moment, my mind drifts to that mountain.
Oh, the sights they will see! Think of the stars at night…close enough to reach out and touch.
“Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing” (Isaiah 40:26, NIV).
There’s nothing like being out in nature to worship in awe of our Creator!
Great verses Suzanne-thanks for a breath of fresh air!
