A few posts ago, I confessed that one of the (critically important) plants for my daughter’s upcoming wedding had died. I have spent the last few days trying to find a replacement for it, as we need two of these New Zealand Tea Trees.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be another New Zealand Tea Tree anywhere on earth.

I still have one tree, which is thriving…so healthy and happy that a finch family decided to set up housekeeping in it! If you look to the left, you’ll see a handsome little nest that seems to be built for a long, long stay.

So…I think I will forgo using New Zealand Tea Trees in my daughter’s wedding and move on to Plan B.

And the moral of the story is to ONLY buy plants for a wedding within hours of needing to display them.
