Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night and was surprised by the full moon…light was streaming in the windows. I’d been reading about blue moons that very evening and thought I’d share a piece of info about this remarkable natural world of ours.

Weather lore has it that a month with a “blue moon” is generally colder than usual.

On rare occasions, the moon has literally had a visible blue coloring caused by atmospheric disturbances.

Our last full blue moon was May 20, 2008…so sit tight. We have a bit of a wait for the next one.
