As the calendar turns to June, my 16-year-old son remains jobless…largely due to the fact that he hasn’t been looking.

You see, he’s a basketball player. A serious basketball player.

To be fair, his schedule (mostly, his coach) is somewhat inflexible.

Still…along with sinking your free-throws, getting and holding a job is a valuable skill, too.

So…I had a great idea! I need an editorial assistant, and my son needs a job. I suggested to him that if he couldn’t find a job by mid-June, he could work for me.

Within one minute, that boy was on the phone, calling every ice cream store, pizza joint and grocery store in town to see if they had any openings.

Stay tuned for this continuing saga…
