My son has been driving for all of three hours since his permit was validated. He is convinced he is ready for freeway traffic at 5:30 pm. On a Friday night.

I don’t quite agree.

So far, he has driven up on a curb, day-dreamed at a red light and missed the signal turning green, and forgot to shift into park when he turned off the ignition.

He says that he just can’t drive with me in the car.

To which I reply, that’s my point exactly!
