So Dad is in a facility DESIGNED for Alzheimer’s patients…with a locked wing…and he still manages to try to escape.
Twice!
The first time, Dad was in his new friend Mel’s room who lives across the hall (picture a dorm) and found a window with a broken stop. He was mid-way through climbing out the window when he was discovered. Caught in the act. On the THIRD STORY, mind you.
The facility has assured my sister that it has repaired the broken window stop in Mel’s room.
However, the facility also reported that Dad had slipped through the door with a
departing visitor, and made it outside the building.
They got him back inside soon after that attempt to flee, thank
goodness.
Oh my. He’s a regular Houdini.
Wow. Nothing like a little extra on the stress-o-meter, huh? Sounds like they need some sort of GPS or tag that alarms when the patients get past a certain point.
We’re headed down to see my husband’s folks this weekend. Some days my FIL knows my MIL is there, some days he doesn’t.
Hugs to you.
YIKES!!! Slippery dude. I think the home he is at is now on “high alert”. Watch out for Mr. Woods, he’s the only patient we have that can be more than one place at once!!!!
