Next week, like many families across the country, my kids will be traveling the freeways to get home for Thanksgiving.

I recently read an article about Heaven that compared it to the feeling a college student has as he turns the corner onto his street. He’s home!

That’s what passing into Heaven will be like, the author wrote. Like coming home.

“A reassuring picture of things returning to normality, a sensation that is associated with coming home. It is the same feeling when you return from holiday. It doesn’t matter how good the holiday has beeen, there is something deeply comforting about coming home. …the sensation is one of returning to the familiar, where you fit in and just feel right.”

That thought has stayed with me, especially with my dad’s decline. A very comforting thought!
