In 1979 my parents and I went to visit my sister in Guatemala. I’ll never forget the open-air meat market with the full carcasses hanging for sale.
We are so so spoiled here in the USA.
No kidding, Linda! One thing I remember about visiting that commune is that the Chinese were so proud of it! And we (privileged American college students) were horrified by its conditions. Not sure if you can tell in the picture, but it’s either a dirt floor in the dentist office…or a very, very, very dirty floor.
