Last night’s evening of jazz was a huge hit! The owners of the coffee house had to bring in tables from the outside. Only once before, they said, have they ever had to do that!

The duo of Hilary and Dom was a treat for the ears to hear and the eyes to watch! It was the first time I got to hear Dom play the acoustic guitar. Wow…that boy can strum.

Hilary has grown so much as a singer…her voice projection, her range, her confidence and comfort level. One woman came up to me afterwards and said that even Hilary’s breathing techniques were flawless. “She’s excellent,” the lady said, “and I’m a singer, too. I know what I’m talking about. I don’t give compliments like that very often.”

Thanks to all of you who came out last night to hear my niece! I think there were a few people from every corner of my life…extended family, a couple of Guide Dog for the Blind puppies in training (who seemed particularly fond of jazz…and the cool, tile floor), church ladies, tennis friends, bible study friends, business friends…a blessed event!

Oh…and a bunch of books were sold, too. Nice!
