I spent the morning yesterday at a church in Los Gatos, CA, meeting a wonderful group of women who had read Copper Star.

I brought Louisa’s Forgiving Cake…which was a hit! They even requested Louisa’s recipe for their monthly newsletter. That’s significant–when someone actually wants your recipe, that means they like it.

Louisa would have been so pleased. She was a terrible cook.

Participating in book clubs is icing on the cake to an author–the readers are so thoughtful, have such deep questions, and I feel blessed to interact with people whom I might not ever have had a chance to meet.

When I returned home, I checked my messages and discovered that Copper Star reached the top spot on a bestseller list!

Wow–what a day!
