Recently, my dog Toffee, a breeder for Guide Dogs for the Blind, had nine puppies. When the pups were eight weeks old, I went over to GDB to have a little visit with them. I’ll be posting pictures of the puppies soon, but here are some pix of the puppy playground. Each of the play toys has a purpose to condition and socialize the puppies, to get them used to surfaces like the feel of grass on their little toes, to small spaces, to people, to moving objects like whirligigs and umbrellas. It’s a sweet start of their career.
After all, it takes a village to raise a guide dog puppy.
