My daughter, Lindsey, is married to a corporate guy who works long, long hours. She has two small children, works part-time from home, volunteers in a big role in her church, and has little (code for absolutely none!) spare time to shop for clothes.
Lindsey heard of a company called Stitch Fix—an online personal stylist. The website asks you a bunch of questions about your preferences, sizes, needs, likes . . . and sends you five articles of clothing to try. If you like them, you pay for them. If not, you send them back in a pre-paid package.
So she decided to give Stitch Fix a try for a month. And now she’s hooked! The clothes sent to her were spot on choices for a busy mom on the go. Well made, good quality, nice fabrics, excellent price range.
The back story to Stitch Fix is a good one: a Harvard MBA student had the idea for Stitch Fix and started it up out of her Cambridge, Mass apartment. It took off! Now she has 200 employees and a Board of Directors of heavy hitters.
I love the concept of helping busy (or shopping challenged, like me) women find what they need to look good and feel good, at affordable prices.
I’m going to try Stitch Fix this month. So is my younger daughter. Stay tuned!
