In celebration of The Heart of the Amish being released, I wanted to start conversations about forgiveness. Last week I asked you to share how forgiveness is woven into your faith. Thank you to everyone who submitted their thoughts on forgiveness! Here is the winning story from Judy:

The Bible teaches us that when someone sins against us, we are to forgive them if we want to be forgiven by God.

Just because we forgive doesn’t mean we’ll forget the sin, but we are to learn from it. Even the largest or the smallest sin is still sin. The size of the sin doesn’t always make a difference in forgiveness. We must still forgive. We can’t always forgive in our hearts when someone has sinned against us, so we need God’s help to complete that forgiveness – to let it go totally. If we don’t forgive someone for their sin against us, then it will eat at us and we will even hold grudges against that person and then we have also sinned. I don’t believe we can totally forgive another person(s) without the help of God.

How have you seen unexpected forgiveness?
