Here are a few of my favorite things for the month of March. It’s a totally random list–but I’m loving these things right now.
Grandmother Finds:
These are the kinds of grandchildren accoutrements that are well worth investing in:
Bumbo Chair
Love this! My daughter received two for a baby shower, so one stays at our house. The Bumbo chair substitutes nicely for a highchair. We have a big center kitchen counter, so I’ve used it to keep the baby close by and happily involved while I’m preparing dinner.
Melissa and Doug toys
I really like the old fashioned, solid, primary-colored wooden toys of Melissa and Doug. All three of my grandchildren have loved this particular stacking toy. Little 8-month-old Reagan’s eyes light up when she sees this stack of wooden blocks! Her job is to knock over every stack we build.
Things for Self-Care Time:
Burt’s Bee’s Repair Serum
Great oil therapy for the unwelcomed signs of middle-aged skin.
Emergen-C Sports drink packets
I use these packets during tennis matches–gives me an energy boost without the sugar content of most sports drinks.

Love my kindle fire. Where would I be without it? Actually I have 2. When battery gets low on one I use the other one and charge the low one. Use for everything. Music, reading email and etc.
Facebook is new to me. Just got on in January.
Started last year to plant seedlings in the winter. Planted pansies then. Turned out very hardy even though the cat chewed some back. This winter planted petunias and pansies again. Save a lot of money doing that.
Made cough syrup myself this winter from a recipe I got on Not Quite Amish. Actually does work. Just as well as the prescription one and even better. I even put it in my tea which I love.
I have a set of the stacking blocks at my house too. I also have the Fisher Price chatter phone that belonged to my 22 yr. old granddaughter and her 20 month old son plays with it and she is expecting a girl next month so she can play with it next. Would sure love to win this contest.
I had the round disc stack up toy that all three of my children use to play with. When I had my grandchildren, they also played with one. I do wish they had had the middle stack up toy back then. That would be more of a challenge for them as they got older. I would have enjoyed playing with it! I love these type of toys for fun and eye/hand development and motor skills. The best thing tho, I believe in, is buying books for children starting with cloth picture books for infants. Developing a good reading habit starting as infants, makes for a good reading habit to up grow with them.
