Last week, my husband and I visited my daughter Meredith’s school in San Francisco. She’s a first grade teacher at a private international school. At the end of July, she will be moving to China to teach 3rd grade at an international school. We had lived in Hong Kong for four years while Meredith was in elementary and middle school. That experience set into motion the dream Meredith had to become an international teacher. She received her credential and Master’s degree, taught in a Chinese school, and now . . . her dream is getting realized. So proud of her for identifying a clear goal and working to make it happen. Our family will really miss Meredith (that’s an understatement!) . . . but here is where technology is a wonderful tool. Looking forward to lots of Skype time and texts and calls. And visits, too! She’ll be back for her brother’s wedding in October, then again for Christmas. And we plan to get over to Asia. A lot.
So . . . one chapter ends, another begins. Here’s a look at our visit:
Wow, what an opportunity. I know you are proud of her. You will miss her, but Gid gave you a beautiful baby girl to raise and let go yo pursue her goals and dreams. I tell people how ask me why I would be OK with my kids leaving, that it would be a shame to have my children stay close to home because that is my wish. I want my kids to follow God’s plan and live for Him not me. I look forward to hearing about all the wonderful adventures that await all of you. God bless your baby girl as she full fills her dreams and that He gives you peace as she is absent from your arms

Our pastor’s daughter went to China a taught, for a year, at an international school. I believe she liked it…I haven’t talked to her in ages. My cousin just got back from a 3 week vacation in China…and she thought it was a great place to visit…smile. Hugs
This is just fabulous!!! Your daughter is fulfilling her dream, as we all hope our children do. My nephew went to Korea to teach, ended up marrying a Korean girl and now makes his home there. He LOVES it!! It is difficult to see them go, but what a joy that they are able to attain their goal.
Loved the pictures and hearing the story! I am so excited for Meredith! Praying God’s blessings on you all in this new stage.
