Many of you know that my daughter Meredith is currently working as a teacher in China (learn more about that here), and my family and I lived in Hong Kong for four years. Living internationally taught me many lessons about life—lessons you can’t necessarily learn without stepping out of your comfort zone and moving to a new place.
If you could travel to any new place and were given a roundtrip airplane ticket there, where would you choose to go?
I’ll be giving away a copy of Amish Values for Your Family to one person who does the following and tells me in a comment below:
- That you’ve signed up for my blog
- And answered the above question
I’ll announce the winner next Friday! Good luck.
Speaking of winners, the winner of last week’s Friday fun is Natalie Vandenberghe. Natalie, please email your mailing address to info@suzannewoodsfisher.com to claim your prize.

With so many wonderful places to see and so many wonderful experiences to be had, it is hard to name just one place to visit. Going overseas is a fantastic experience but I think we owe it to ourselves to take in our own United States. On my list of things to do, taking number one is visiting all 50 states. I lack four so I think I would choose Minnesota as my place to visit, then I could drive over to Michigan, down to Iowa, and back up to Wisconsin.
I definitely am signed up for your blog and I thank you for it.

We have dear friends in Norway we want to visit then too.
My dream has always been to go to the Holy Land – however, probably am not now physically up to all the up-hill walking there. Next on my list would be to go to one of the Polynesian Islands & stay in one of those neat suites on stilts that sit out in the ocean – love anything oceanfront!

I signed up for the blog through email. I have been to a few places in Canada and Mexico, and to many states in the US, but have not made it further west than Colorado. My job is such that I can’t travel very far, and have to plan a couple months in advance just to get one day off. Since I live in Ohio, my most recent 3-day weekend was to Holmes (and surrounding) counties. Although I would love to go to Britain or Australia, I think the next time I have an opportunity to get away for more than an extended weekend, I would visit Seattle. I’ll have to save the international visits until after retirement.
I joined your blog and if I could travel anywhere I do believe I would choose Alaska. I would love to see the glaciers. I know it is not very far but I have always wanted to go there.
