A Day in My Life: "O Happy Day" Wedding!

My son’s wedding came and went this weekend . . . leaving us with happy memories. And a beautiful, new daughter-in-law!

Amanda’s bouquet: I spy a little pomegranate! | Just married! Like . . . one minute ago!

My husband and sons | The groom and mother’s (that’s me!) dance to Louis Armstrong’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” | Gary and Amanda’s first dance as husband and wife | The wedding reception . . . before guests arrived.

Gary & Amanda | My son and his bride | My family! Josh & Lindsey, Gary & Amanda, Meredith, Tad | Wedding reception was held at a farm. This is still prep time. | Leaving the reception through a wall of sparklers! Oh happy day!

Congrats to you, Cyndi! Hmmm…one piece of advice. I’ve had both a daughter and a son get married now (certainly different responsibilities for a bride’s family than a groom’s family)…but one thing was the same: I paused for a moment to realize that nearly everyone I loved was gathered for this special day. It truly felt like a hint of heaven! Don’t miss that moment…it’s quite amazing to stop and take it all in.

  Great advice! True about the differences… my son got married in May a year ago and it’s LOTS different! 🙂 The planning is going well… just really hitting me how little time is left! And the holidays in there to boot! A bit bittersweet since this is my last but the seasons are changing… and that’s a good thing. Right? lol
