This year, Lord willin’, we will be receiving a very special gift on Christmas Eve: our first little granddaughter. She has only one thing on her Christmas list: a name. With nine days to go, my daughter and son-in-law can’t agree on a single name.
Any suggestions? If you’ve got a favorite girl’s name, leave a comment here on my blog and I promise to pass it along. As a thank you for your baby-naming help, I’ll be giving away five copies of A New Home for Lily (releasing in February!)
I am partial to my daughter’s name , Joelle
The name Rachael means a lot to me… That’s my daughters name 🙂
Congratulations on your new almost gradndaughter. As for her name, it should be Noelle of course since she is being born on Christmas eve. Or perhaps you like Eve better, but remember she was the one that started it all!

Isabella is my grand daughter’s name (who will turn 8 months on Christmas) and I love her name. We call her Bella and my hubby calls her Izzy lol. I have also always loved the name Grace which is what my name means but my mom felt Grace was to old fashioned for a baby born in the 70’s.
so she went with Anne Marie which I do love.
Joelle~as a girl’s name is pronounced joh-EL. It is of French origin, and the meaning of Joelle is “Jehovah is God”.
It is also my middle name. 🙂
When i had my daughter almost 5 years ago, my husband and i couldn’t agree on a name. We thought of Chloé but with Lussier as a last name it wouldn’t do. I liked Rebekah but my husband had trouble remembering how to spell it.
Turns out that when we saw her we knew she was Jasmine…. Her 2nd name is May which means God’s gift. All our kids have a second name meaning God’s gift.

I would have to say Faith Marie would be a great name but I am very partial…thats my daughters name . We had a very special reason to name her that …one that took alot of faith in God. My husband stood to inherit Huntington’s Disease which would mean any children we had could also inherit it (50/50 chance) , if he did have it. We decided to leave her health in God’s hands and still have children even though he did not know if he would inherit it from his mother or not! I had so many people (even christians) tell me we were crazy. She was four months old when he was finally able to have a DNA test that looked for the HD marker. WE both had to have counseling before they would test him …..many people kill themselves when they find out there going to get HD. After 2 weeks of waiting we found out he does NOT carry the gene so he cannot pass it! It still makes me teary 15 years later . God is so good!!!

When we were trying to choose a baby name, we were given a book, 1000 NAMES FOR BABY. 1000?!! We needed one name, not a thousand. It’s hard to whittle it down.
For a holiday baby- Holly Noelle or Mary Noelle or Natala Eve or Faith Noelle or even any of these: Angele, Abigail, Hannah, Naomi, Leah, Sara, Christiane, Emmanuelle, Helen would be good Christian names. Good luck and Congratulations! Wishing you and your family a very blessed Christmas!

Hannah, meaning Gift from God
*Grace* is a lovely name.
Congratulations! I have always liked the names Cassandra Grace and Abigal Rose.
Suzanne,
My wife, Krystal Smith has become a huge fan of yours. She has shared your Amish proverbs with family and friends over the past few years. She has been our anchor in faith. Last Friday she had a heart attack and is currently fighting to recover. She is still unconscious. I have faith that she will recover completely but we are still in the woods. Much like a pilot trying to find a runway on a dark stormy night. I want you to know that you have helped us to muster our faith and also to know that one of your biggest fans is down and we welcome all of the prayers we can get.
Thanks for being you
Ronnie
I think the name Avery Grace is a beautiful name. No particular reason other than that is what I would have named my son had he been a girl.
Congrats to you, your husband, the parents-to-be and the whole family!!
Olivia or Lily
One of my friends had a daughter born on Christmas day. She named her Noelle Rose. Beautiful name for such a precious baby born on such a special day!
Can’t wait to hear what name your grandbaby receives.
Loralei ( my neice’s name) or if you want to be a little off the wall……Marmaduke Celery 🙂 We teased our kids to conceal the gender until she was born.
I’ve always liked my name-Athena. Its just unique enough but not too complicated. I think Eve would be beautiful if she is born the 24 though! Congratulations!
I like the name Mary Elizabeth. Have a Blessed Christmas.
How about the name Isabella Sinai
My choice is Addilyn and you can shorten it to Addie
Christina is a good name that my daughter name.
The Christ child came to eventually conquer….
The name”Lorraine” means warrior – I believe your grandaughter is entering our world a time where bravery is especially important.
Because your granddaughter is going to be born near Christmas I think Joy, Holly, Mary, or Noelle are all beautiful names that fit the season. God bless the new baby whatever her name is though!
Katelynn darlene is my only grandchild and lucky to have her the only one I will have.the darlene runs in my family.my name Is.

I’ve always liked Susan Dawn or Autumn Dawn.My youngest daughter is Susan Dawn.
I have always loved the name Mackenzie Grace. I also love Rebecca and Abigail Ann. Congrats on your little granddaughter, Suzanne!
I like MaKenna!!! That is my only daughters name!
I named my only daughter Danielle Josephine. I wasn’t a born again Christian in those days but I felt she needed a name that would guide her through life, and who’s laws don’t change.
Danielle after Daniel in the bible ( the meaning God is my judge)
Josephine after my mother ( the meaning is He shall add)
Those names have proved to be the best for her, I feel that God himself has chosen those names for her. She’s a living example that He judges and guides her as well He has added to her needs.)
Congratulations on the forthcoming precious grandbaby!! What a blessing! I am partial to Ruth – meaning friend or companion or Naomi – meaning delightful or beautiful! Two of my favorite ladies in the Bible!! Thank you for the opportunity and Merry Christmas!!
Congratulations on becoming a grandmother again! And girls are so much fun! I personally like the name Faith. I may be partial to it because it is my middle name, but it’s also the foundation of our belief in God. My favorite verse is Hebrews 11:1 (NLT), “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” I’m sure not matter what her name she will be an angel!
I’ve never had children & now I’m past the age of childbirth. There’s name I truly love which sounds strong & sings to the ear. The boys name Xavier which honor’s St. Francis but means A BRAND NEW HOUSE when CHRIST ENTERS INTO YOUR HEART so I created the female derivative the beautiful, profound name Xavier to Xaviah with the letter “H” being silent/soft. It’s unique – Xaviah Noel. I’ve kept it to myself for a couple of decades in hopes…but I give & share it with you in the spirit of the magnificent, magical, Illuminating, spiritual season of Christmas & All the Holidays this time of year!
We named our youngest daughter Bethany. I just felt drawn to the name, and still love it. Prayers that your daughter has a safe and easy delivery, and congratulations to all of you and your family! Merry Christmas!
I’m partial to my daughter’s name, Kristy – but if I’d ever had another daughter I would name her Mary Alice.
