Dreams Coming True is a Thursday feature on my blog, a way to highlight those whose goal is to create community. The dream might be a blog, a published book, a small business, volunteering, or even fundraising for a charity. Something that makes the world a better place . . . for others.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin” (Zechariah 4:10, NLT).
Hello! My name is Rosalie Replogle, and I’m an artist, Christian, wife, mother, grandmother. I’ve known the Lord all of my life; He’s seen me through illnesses and many trials. I have been an artist since 1960, a wife for 55 years, and will always be a mother and grandmother.
Although I began painting in the ’60s, I have been following God’s lead since 2000, when He led me to work with a group to use my art to make funds for Haiti (Trinity Hope). From there I went into creating postcards, bookmarks, license plates, note cards, note pads, and coffee mugs with Bible verses. All of this helps me to spread God’s grace. I have a friend in another state who uses my items in her shut-in ministry.
My art is not a moneymaker since I hand a lot of it out for free. I barter with authors for their books, leading to friendships and a sharing of our talents. I have not “burned” out on my art because God opens a new door, and I walk through.
My friends give me photos I may use. I get an idea for a painting, then I search the Word for a verse to go along with that particular piece. For example, I have a bookmark/card of a grandson with a former girlfriend that says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity” (1Timothy 4:12). When I have to look up verses in the Bible, it soothes my soul.
My husband supports me always in my dream; my grandsons are my biggest fans. I am encouraged by my pastor, my church family, and many friends.
God led me to a printer who has become a valuable friend who takes great pains in getting each piece right. She is the only one allowed to do my art reproduction; she encourages, suggests, and gives me the best prices she can. In fact, I could not have come this far without this talented lady.
I have learned that God means what He says . . . and you had better wear a seat belt if He’s in charge.
I do not have a website. Most of what I do is passed on by word of mouth. I carry bookmarks in my purse at all times and hand them out when it is convenient. I send my cards to people at times of joy, sorrow, or gratitude; in fact, I have not purchased a store-bought card since I began my dream.
I recommend that prayer be in everything you do, especially getting started. Believe in what you are doing; let it bring you joy. Not everyone will see it the way you do. I had one woman ask me if I had anything besides Bible verses. I had just shared with her how God had led me to a specific verse. All I can do is plant the seed; God will water it.
My dream may not be here in five years due to electronic readers, email, and the economy, but that is up to my Lord. He will lead my art unto another path. I will always paint and display my art; I will forever see the colors and beauty of creation. And I will serve God with joy.

What a lovely lady! I would love to have access to purchasing Rosalie’s creations, for myself and to give to others. May her art continue to be a blessing to those who receive it!
I totally love what Rosalie is doing. I am concerned that the day will come when my craft won’t be appreciated any longer. I do a lot of hand sewing, (crocheting, knitting, needle work etc.) Too many people don’t want to take the time any more. But like Rosalie I will keep doing what I do as long as my God continues to nudge me in that direction.
Way to go Rosalie!!!
This is very heart warming n touched my inner soul. I do the same but not as beautiful. God has given Rosalie. Continue on your wonderful journey through God’s lead.
Miss Rosalie is a lovely lady and I am thrilled to hear about her. I grew up in a small town loving a lady there that painted china. Each piece she painted was unique and beautiful but Miss Rosalie’s work is even more beautiful since it has the glorious verses from the bible on them. I would love to own one of her pieces, does she have a website? May she continue to do what she loves and be richly blessed.
Lovely post I would love to able to purchase some of her items for gifts .
