I was overjoyed to find this sweet review in my inbox of my new book, Life with Lily, from such a young reader:
Life with Lily by Mary Ann Kinsinger and Suzanne Woods Fisher
Review by Christian Hope, age 10
Publisher: Revell
Pub date: October 1, 2012
This book is about a little girl named Lily. She loves dolls and the color pink. Lily also has a big family. She has a mom named Rachel and a dad named Daniel, but Lily calls them Mama and Papa! She also has a brother named Joseph and a brother named Daniel. ( I have one brother and I can’t imagine having two. But Lily loves them both and she really likes her family.)
I loved this story. There was action and drama. One time Lily disobeyed her parents and she learned some good lessons about why it is important to listen to your mom and dad. The book was funny in some places too – I laughed out loud and told my family how funny some of the things were. And it was also sad in some places.
Life with Lily was a really good story and I enjoyed it a lot. I’m trying to get my older sister to read it because I think she will like it too.
I think anyone would like this story. Even boys could find fun stuff to read in it. I didn’t want to stop reading it when I started. I liked Lily a lot and it was interesting to learn about her life as an Amish kid. It’s a lot different than mine. I think that was part of why I liked the book so much.
