????????What is the smartest writing advice you ever got?

The smartest writing advice I ever received was to WRITE EVERY DAY. Even if you don’t feel like it, WRITE. Even if you aren’t feeling 100%, write for even just 10 minutes. It is easy to fall out of a habit, and if you let writing slide for even just a few days, it is hard to get back into the groove. I know this to be true from experience! So … write every day. Even 100 words. WRITE.

What was your biggest break?

I think my biggest writing break would be when my debut novel, The Heiress of Winterwood, won the Historical Romance category of ACFW’s Genesis contest.

I’m inspired by…

history and the stories of the people who came before us.

If I could go anywhere, it would be…

England! (I suppose that it not a surprise, considering that I write books set in Regency England!)

What has been your most surreal, “pinch-me-I’m-dreaming” moment so far?

As far as my writing career goes, I would have to say the day I signed my first contract. Talk about a dream come true!

What drives you to succeed?

Lady at Willowgrove - emailMy family.

Best Saturday afternoon read:

Any Bronte novel (but The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is probably my favorite!)

Best way to break a sweat:

Yoga!

Best style icon:

Audrey Hepburn. Hands down.

Best time-waster:

A good movie.

Best television show:

Project Runway.

Best indulgence:

Lindt truffles … I love those things!
