What is the smartest writing advice you ever got?
Work to perfect your craft and never decide there isn’t anything more to learn. No writer knows it all. I hope that every book I write will be better than the last one.
What was your biggest break?
Selling a cozy mystery to Barbour Books. That sale kicked off my writing career.
I’m inspired by…
Writers who don’t give up. This business has its ups and downs. Being able to ride out the rough times is the difference between those who have long term careers and those who get discouraged and walk away.
My great adventure has been…
My greatest adventure has come from being a mother. Watching my son grow into a wonderful young man, marry his soul mate, and become a father, has been the best adventure of my life!
The one thing I hope to discover is…
What God has planned for me. I don’t believe I’ve reached the summit of my journey. My goal is to become everything He created me to be.
If I could go anywhere, it would be…
To Missouri so I can be near my kids and my grandson. Thankfully, that’s in the works! We should be there sometime this year.
If you have only…an hour…
I would tell everyone I love how important they are to me. And I would tell my unsaved friends about Jesus.
Describe yourself in one word.
Tenacious.
If your house were on fire, what one thing would you save?
My dog! Hopefully, my husband has already run outside! LOL!
What drives you to succeed?
Believing that God has a good plan for my life. I want to see it come to pass.
Best Surprise
Finding out my daughter-in-law was pregnant!
Best Saturday Afternoon Read
Something written by Tosca Lee or Ted Dekker.
Best Way to Break a Sweat
Walking in our favorite park.
Best Time-Waster
Television
Best Indulgence
Television! LOL!
Best Advice
Don’t give up. God has a good plan for your life. Just trust Him and believe.
Nancy, hope you can make your dreams come true to be near your grandson. I believe that as long as we live we can be ever moving towards “our plan”, the one that God has for us.
I agree completely with you, Loretta! Thanks for stoping by.
I loved this book. I learned about this author just a few months ago and am so blessed to have Nancy Mehl as an author I read and follow. I’m even picking up her previous books to read. So glad the word is getting out about Nancy and wish her the very best in future. As always a great blog and I enjoyed the interview on Amish Wisdom on Thursday. Always look forward to this on Thursdays. Blessings, Susan Fryman
Thank you so much, Susan. I’m blessed to have you as a reader – and a friend!
Unbreakable sounds like a great book. Would love to win it.
I agree that the best adventure in life is God’s gift of motherhood and all that goes along with it. Now, however, that our children are grown and raising their own families, I am pleased to have time to read. 🙂
I totally understand having time to read, Mary-Louise. Wish I had more of it! LOL!
Would love to as a new author to my collection of Amish books.
Nice to “meet” you Nancy! Your life sounds happy and fulfilling. Enjoy that little grandson. Mine is 2 & 1/2 and a delight too. Hope “Unbreakable” tops the charts 😀
Thank you, Jan. I hope so too!
And it’s nice to meet you as well. (Smile)
I would love to win this book as I have never read any of her books.

Nice to meet you too, Brenda!
I am really looking forward to reading this book.
I would love to win a copy of this GREAT book.
A Mennonite mystery sounds right up my alley. May have to share this with my friend Eunice if it’s not too traumatic
Not too traumatic. It is suspense and mystery, so there are, I hope, some nail-biting moments!
Would love to win this book.. Sounds interesting..
I have Unescapeable and would love to have this book by Nancy also. Please accept my entry. Thank you.
Just finished inescapable and would love to win this one to keep on with the series. I just adore the covers on these 2 books. Good author, we have many mennonites and amish living near here at drakesville and bloomfield Iowa.
Thank you for your comment about my covers. I love them too!
I would feel so honor to win this book. The cover is just beautiful.
I would love to read this book. I have read a lot of Amish fiction, but not much about the mennonites.
Nancy, I haven’t read your book but it does sound interesting. Will be going to my favorite indy bookstore (The Bookshelf) and have them orderit for me. They are primaril a used bookstore but they order new books for their regular customers Each month I give them a list of the books I want to read. They alread have a long list of my favorite authors to order by name & not by title. That way I won’t miss one of their books. I’venever known Suzanne to recommend an author that I didn’t enjoy their books. Would love to win. God bless you in your writing, your goals & enjoying your family.
I’m glad to be on your list, Pat. Hope you enjoy my books!
Would love to read this book. Enjoyed reading this spotlight.
Her dog!! Love your books!!
Tammy – Hubby isn’t so sure about that answer. LOL!

Unbreakable looks like a great book. I would love to win!
Can’t wait to read this book!!
I would love to win this book, it sounds exciting, and full of love, hope, and faith.
That’s exactly what I try to fill my books with, Elba. I want to leave my readers with more than just a good story. I want God to speak to them through my words. I pray over every book, hoping He’ll do just that.
Love mysteries and Amish books and both in one is even better! Would love to win this book and finding new authors!!! 🙂
Would love to win this book. Thanks, Suzanne, for introducing us to new authors!!
Great interview! I have been wanting to read this book/series since I first hear about it. Thanks for the giveaway!

Sounds like a really good book. Would love to win it!
I would just love to win your book I havnt read one of your yet,but I sure it a very good book, thank
I really enjoy meeting new authors…and I think I would like you very much. God bless and thanks!
Would love to win this book. I was introduced to your books through my local Library. I have read all your other books.
I love libraries. My daughter-in-law is a librarian! Some people wonder if authors get upset when readers check out books at a library instead of buying their book. I don’t know a single author who feels that way. We all love libraries. Besides, if you’re like me, AFTER I fall in love with a book I checked out from the library, I end up buying it so I can add it to my own personal collection!
Would love to win Unbreakable.
Thanks for the chance.

Would love to read a book from a new author for me. Can’t get enough from spiritual reading.
I enjoyed the fun interview! I think God has so much planned for each of us to do. Isn’t it grand that He does have a plan? Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy of Unbreakable.
One day I hope to move closer to all my family too. I’m hoping your husband gets himself out in the event of a fire. I did laugh.

Thanks for the giveaway. This sounds fascinating.

I think Nancy’s books have just the right amount of suspense. Love them! I liked your answer about what drives you to succeed. I know that God has a plan for me and I can’t wait to get to heaven and have that “Aha” moment. I’m sure it’s a doozy. As far as TV being a time waster, I understand. There is one thing that puzzles me. We have cable and have about a bazillion channels yet sometimes there is not anything good on. Sigh! Have a great day! Kristie from Ohio. kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.
