Disciplined to write!

And share something about your writing. What’s your genre(s), your areas of interest…

Helping others to simplify, organize, prioritize. Prayer. Special need.

How did you get started writing?

Felt called to do so in an effort to help and encourage others.

Did you have a dream of being a published author?

Not initially!

After you started writing seriously–how long was it before you were published?

Self published first with copies and then self publisher…..

Aside from a cup of good, strong coffee, what helps you get all of your “brain cylinders” firing so you can write well?

A brisk walk! Do you have any favorite places and routines when you write? My computer How many hours a day do you spend writing? I spend all Wednesday writing. Other than that, as time allows.

What has been the biggest help to you in the journey to publication? Writers’ conferences? Writing groups? Your mom as your first draft reader?

Persistence.

Is the “writer’s life” what you thought it would be?

My goal was to help and encourage and I feel fulfilled in that.

What are your biggest distractions?

Household responsibilities.

What was one of the best moments in your career and what was one of the worst?

Interviews with Familylife and Focus on the Family (these were the best). The worst: Just the long wait to get things done….

What do you least like about being a writer?

The long process.

Most like?

Finished product in my hands!

What is the role and importance of an agent?

I don’t have one. If yours is looking for writers, have them call!

What advice would you give to new writers?

Don’t quit if you feel you have a message.

Pretend I’m a customer at a bookstore looking for a good book. Give me a one or two sentence promo to convince me to buy your book.

This author “tells it like it is” in an informative and sometimes humorous way. She will help you and encourage you!

What’s on the book horizon for you?

Perhaps a devotional.

Last question, how can readers find you and your books?
