This week’s Amish Wisdom will center on following the “God-sized dreams” you were created for and “letting go of trying hard” with authors Holley Gerth and Emily Freeman. The first half hour Holley is back on the show to talk about her new book, You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream, about how to abandon fear and live fully. Then during the second half hour, we’ll meet Emily Freeman and hear about her new book, Graceful. She’ll share what’s she’s learned about how to drop the “good-girl persona”, stop striving and start trusting God.
Both Holley and Emily are giving away a copy of their books. Just leave a comment {HERE} (or email ckrumm@litfusegroup.com if you’re having problems with the comment box). Winner will be notified next week via email.
More about Holley: Holley Gerth is a bestselling writer, certified life coach and speaker. She loves connecting with the hearts of women through her popular blog and books like You’re Already Amazing and You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream. She’s also cofounder of (in)courage and a partner with DaySpring. Holley lives with her husband, Mark, in the South. Hang out with her at www.holleygerth.com.
More about You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream: We all long to live with more purpose, passion, and joy. Yet in the middle of our hectic lives, the God-sized dreams that have the potential to lead us into all God has planned for us are the ones that tend to get lost. With her intimate, approachable style and constant encouragement, popular blogger and author Holley Gerth invites women to rediscover the big dreams God has given them–and then dare to pursue them.
With the enthusiasm and honesty that we all want from our closest friend, Holley encourages women to overcome excuses–too busy, too late, too far out of my comfort zone–and believe that their God-sized dreams can become reality. She takes readers by the heart and says, “Yes! You can do this! Let’s go!” and then guides them forward with a loving hand. A licensed counselor and certified life coach, Holley insightfully combines inspiration with practical application in this positive book.
More about Emily: Emily P. Freeman is a writer who loves to read and a speaker who would rather listen. Every Sunday night, she leads a small group of high school girls at her house where they talk about real life, real love and the God who makes a difference. Emily’s husband John is a youth pastor and they live, love and serve together in North Carolina with their twin daughters, their son, and their crazy dog, Finn. The author of Grace for the Good Girl, she attended Columbia International University to study the Bible and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she earned a degree in Educational Interpreting for the Deaf. Connect with Emily online at www.ChattingAtTheSky.com.
More about Graceful: You know her–the good girl. She’s the reliable one who shows up every week at youth group wearing a purity ring and a smile. She gets good grades, makes the team, and doesn’t need to be told to come home on time. But deep down she is crushed by the weight of the responsibility to be the good one, the smart one, the one who never messes up.
With the same candor and gentle spirit she showed women in Grace for the Good Girl, Emily Freeman now gives young women what they need to be free on the inside, no matter what’s going on outside. Through an honest look at the roles girls play, she helps them learn to stop trying and start trusting that the Jesus who came to save them also comes to live with them, right here and now.
These books sound really good! Thanks for the chance!
