Tune in on Thursday at 4:00 pm Central! To listen in – go here and just click on the player in the top right corner.

This week on Amish Wisdom we’ll meet two new-to-Amish-Wisdom authors of Amish Fiction, Olivia Newport and Alice Wisler. Olivia Newport is the author of Accidentally Amish. Her novels twist through time to find where faith and passions meet. (Exciting!) Olivia lives in Colorado, where her husband and two twenty-something children help her know the difference between real life and the people stomping through her head on their way to her stories. Then during the second half of the show we’ll meet author Alice Wisler. Alice will be talking about her new book, Still Life in Shadows, which released this past July. Alice and I have more in common than writing about the Amish. Curious? Tune in on Thursday to find out more.

For a chance to win one of TEN copies of Accidentally Amish or a copy of Still Life in Shadows, leave a comment {HERE}. Winners will be notified next week via email.

More about Olivia: Olivia Newport’s novels twist through time to find where faith and passions meet. Her husband and two twentysomething children provide welcome distraction from the people stomping through her head on their way into her books. She chases joy in stunning Colorado at the foot of the Rockies, where daylilies grow as tall as she is.

More about Accidentally Amish: Escape the helter-skelter of the modern culture and join software creator Annie Friesen, hiding at the home of an Amishman. With her high-tech career in jeopardy, Annie runs from fast-paced Colorado Springs—and straight into the hospitality of San Luis Valley’s Amish community. There she meets cabinetmaker Rufus Beiler, and the more time she spends with him, the more attracted she becomes. When Annie finds she shares a common ancestor with Rufus, she feels both cultures colliding within her. But is her love for Rufus strong enough for her to give up the only life she’s ever known?

More about Alice: Inspired by Mose Gingerich of  the TV series, Amish: Out of Order, Still Life in Shadows is a tale of yearning to belong.  I hope my readers will know, that like Gideon Miller and Kiki Yanagi, they always belong.

More about Still Life in ShadowsIt’s been fifteen years since Gideon Miller ran away from his Amish community in Carlisle, Pennsylvania as a boy of fifteen.  Gideon arrives in the Smoky Mountains town of Twin Branches and settles in at the local auto mechanic’s garage. He meets a host of interesting characters -the most recent acquaintances are Kiki, an autistic teen, and her sister Mari. Known as the “Getaway Savior” he helps other Amish boys and girls relocate to life in modern America.

One day the phone rings. On the other end is his brother Moriah calling from Florida. Of course Gideon welcomes his brother to stay with him and offers him a job. But Moriah is caught in a web which ends in his death and forces Gideon to return to the town of his youth, with his brother’s body in the back of a hearse and Mari and Kiki at his side. He must face not only the community he ran away from years ago but also his own web of bitterness. Will he be able to give his anger over to God and forgive his father?<
