This past week a young couple was on their way home from a friend’s house. As they were driving the wife noticed that the curve ahead did not get the attention of her husband. He was looking the other way. She wisely checked, and seeing that there was not much of a ditch with no fence posts close, she held her tongue. A bit later Mr. Byler found himself driving in a field. Blond jokes abound in my family for obvious reasons. I got a note last week from one of my so called ‘relatives.’ It had a picture of a bare corn field with one stalk still standing. Beside that stood a sign declaring “Corn maze for blondes.” Scribe from Charm, Ohio
In their own words…
Tuesday evening Rhoda and I were sitting on the front lawn watching the world go by and listening to the musical chatter of the martins. (I had my hearing aid on.) Suddenly, the beauty of the evening was shattered by Rhoda’s, “Look, look! Over there by the wash line!” I looked just in time to see an owl disappear into the woods with a martin in its claws. Usually, I subscribe to the idea of being a law-abiding citizen. (I mean, are owls a protected species?)

Especially love the blonde one!
And I must be having a blonde day, because the third one makes no sense to me.

The lives of these three individuals intertwine, and then unravel as unexpected twists create ripples through the town of Stoney Ridge . . . and through Sadie’s heart.
