This is an actual conversation I had with my son the other day. It is an example of the skewed logic of a job hunting 16-year-old, heading downtown to deliver a filled-out application:

Me: “You can’t drop off a job application when you’re wearing flip-flops and a sweatshirt.”

Son: “Sure I can. I’ll just tell them I’m not the applicant.”

Me: “Uh…and how is that a good thing?”
