My mother: “I just don’t know what happened to one of Dad’s favorite caregivers at the Board and Care. There’s something mysterious going on.”

Me: “What do you mean?”

Mom: “He just disappeared one day. Vanished.”

Me: “Does anybody know what happened to him?”

Mom: “Well, Dad says he quit. Another lady said he died. Someone else said he was in jail.”

Me: “Mom! Do you really think you should be asking for reliable information from people who live in a dementia home?”

Turns out the caregiver had some minor surgery and will be back on the job soon.
