Yesterday, I was at a memorial service to celebrate the life of a very dear, very funny man. A story was told about this man, Dick, a church elder.

Dick was in an elder meeting in the church office when a woman called and asked what the church’s stance was on nuclear weapons.

The elders looked at each other, unsure of how to respond.

Without missing a beat, Dick replied, “Tell her we don’t allow them in the sanctuary.”
