Last Saturday, my husband and I were invited to the wedding of Bryan and Jenna, held in an orchard, deep in the California countryside. A beautiful setting, complete with pews!
The wedding party had 12 attendants on each side, and it worked! Bryan and Jenna love their friends and wanted to be surrounded by them. Jenna asked each bridesmaid to pick her own dress—short, cream-colored, with lace. Fun to see the variety! Each girl looked distinctive, yet they all blended together beautifully.
The dinner was held in an open grassy area in the center of the orchard under tents. (Can’t imagine how much work went into hauling everything to the orchard! Then, clean up on Sunday.) The bride and groom picked farmer’s market pizza for the entree! Thin crust, unique flavors (such as apricot balsamic). The farmer’s market people brought their wood cooker to the orchard, so the pizza was hot and ready to go! And for dessert . . . ice cream sandwiches! (Don’t even ask me how they kept those cold. I have no idea!)
The last touch was a string of candles in those bags to guide everyone safely to their cars.
Very special evening for a very special couple.
