Blue Apron

Have you been hearing the buzz over Blue Apron? It’s an online service that allows you to pick gourmet meals and have everything delivered directly to your home.

I first heard about Blue Apron from my friend’s daughter, A.J., who hasn’t had much cooking experience. In graduate school to become a physical therapist, she’s short on time but likes to eat nutritious and flavorful foods. A.J. gave Blue Apron a try–she not only had great success in the kitchen, but the recipes have taught her how to cook!

So I had to check it out. And I was wowed. The produce was top-notch–as good as Whole Food’s. So were the proteins, and the pre-measured spices or herbs. The recipes are easy to use with step-by-step photographs and instructions. And delicious! Really, really good.

Kim, A.J.’s mom, chose the twice a week, two-person plan, and is a dedicated fan. She said most meals are abundant and end up being leftovers for the next day.

I like the way it helps me experiment with new ingredients and stretch my culinary skills.

Best of all, Blue Apron requires absolutely NO commitment. You can try it for one week, take a few weeks off, order again, or you can get 2 or 3 meals week after week after week. It doesn’t matter. You can schedule delivery dates to suit your schedule, plus choose meals based on your dietary preferences and needs.

This probably sounds like a commercial, but I promise I’m not getting any kickback from Blue Apron. I love the simplicity, ease and high level food value of companies like these and want to give them a shout out.
