When I was in college, for my summer job I had enough seniority to pick my location and staff. One particular co-worker was very difficult during our training week, and basically, no one wanted to be stuck with her all summer. I felt God saying …This is your job. I told my boss I would go wherever she wanted me, and work with whoever..I ended up on the “rough end of town” working with a difficult person, but it was one of the best summers of work, because I was right where God wanted me, learning just what I need to know.

I have to say that following my instinct saved me a ticket the other day,
I was traveling down I29 following a line of cars and we were all doing somewhere between 75 and 80. speed limit is 70. all of a sudden I felt I should slow down to speed limit and I did. just as a patrolman passed the car behind me and went on by. saved my self a ticket. by the time I went a mile or two on he had stopped 2 cars that had been in the lead. this is just one incident in my life

One day I had planned a shopping trip to the city, but it was raining so at the last minute I decided not to go. Later on the news I learned there had been a major avalanche in the canyon which happened at just the moment I would have been at that spot. I am now aware that God prompted me not to go. Isn’t the Lord good!

I honestly can’t think of a time where I should have or did follow my instinct and it made any difference.
I always try to follow my “gut” and it has worked many times. Mother’s intuition always seems spot on too. I would love to win one of these prizes!!
I’m not sure if this fits as intuition or your question referring to it but, my daughter had a job interview recently and was told that some candidates were getting called for a second interview and I just knew she would be called back(she did), and then I just knew she would get the job. I only told my husband this. She got the job 🙂 Thank you for the chance to win either of these giveaways 🙂
Well, there have been many blessed and missed opportunities. My current job, which is started last August, took me out of my “comfort zone”, but I really felt that God was calling me to do this and He was right! My first instinct was No Way, but I took a chance and am glad I did. I work as a Paraprofessional in Special Education at our High School. Very challenging and very rewarding. Looking forward to my second year!
I listened to my instincts when my husband and I were trying to get pregnant with our second child. He wanted one more child and I wanted two more. I ended up getting pregnant with twins! We are the proud parents of an almost fifteen year old son and our twin daughters will turn thirteen in October. We still joke about me being right and his face at our first ultrasound. He almost passed out!
One missed opportunity I had was when a friend had surgery. I had the thought that I should take dinner to them one night. I was busy and ignored the feeling. I don’t know what I missed out on by not following through, but I’m sure there was something.

There have been multiple times in my personal and professional life that I have chosen or ignored the little voice. When I ignore it, I always end up wishing I had listened so I have learned the hard way to always listen to that little voice of reason. Years ago, my family and I had a “falling out” and weren’t on speaking terms….. something (a gut feeling, that little voice,…) told me I needed to go see them. My father was diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after that and died within 6 months but because of that little voice (or divine intervention) I was able to be a part of his life (and have wonderfully long talks) before he passed away- those are memories I cherish.

I moved to South Texas back in 1990 with the intention of staying just one year to get teaching experience and then move back to Minnesota to try to get a job. However, I decided to teach summer school because I had met an interesting fellow. Well, 24 years later, we are married and have a beautiful 11 year old son. God’s plan. 🙂

Earlier this spring my elderly neighbor’s house was robbed while she wasat church. My husband was outside and saw someone walking thru our yard away from her house. When I went out again the police asked if I saw anything I told him no, but my husband had. To make a long story short, I was backing out of the driveway a saw a guy walking up our road. I told my husband to let the police know even though this guy had different clothes on. It turns out thatit was the one who robbed her house. She got everything back including her nurse’s pin she received when she passed her test for her nurse’s license.

I’ve been working for my current employer for 28 years. I still have challenges and changes all the time. It’s the best job I’ve ever had, though.
I am old, so there are probably many times I didn’t pay attention to my instincts. There have been times I tried to discourage my daughter from taking certain paths based on my instincts. A couple of years ago, she decided she wanted to drive across country to Philadelphia for a cancer walk. The donations had already been paid and the walk was only 2K, so the drive was not worth the costs, but she wanted to visit historical sites in Philly and visit Amish country on the way back. The weather was bad, I couldn’t find her a hotel room to save my life, she got a very late start, and she had only gotten her driver’s license a couple of months before, and I kept telling her that this trip was not a good idea, and she would be better off staying closer to home. Less than 100 miles from home, her car started banging and rattling and it was difficult to keep it on the road. She stopped at a truck stop and waited for AAA to come out to take a look (more delay), then resumed the first leg of the journey to pick up another participant. When she got there, she had the car looked at again and a tire changed (another delay). Still she insisted that this trip was important, and headed east after dark. There were mountains she never expected, the worst flooding in the area in decades, fog, and driving all night after already being awake for 24 hours. She made it to Philly just a few minutes before the walk started, so sat in the car to wait, AND FELL ASLEEP! When she woke up, she was so disgusted that she turned around and headed back home, without seeing any sites or stopping in Amish country. Another flat tire on the way back (and I had had 4 new tires installed the day before she left!), her toll money mysteriously disappeared from the car, so she had no money to pay the toll when she got off the PA turnpike, so she got a voucher to mail in the toll fees, which also mysteriously disappeared! When she got home, she said it was the worst trip of her life, and that she should have listened to me.
Would love to win! While in college, I thought I would go visit a friend but didn’t go. There was a major wreck on the road I would have taken!
I’m sure most of us have seen ambulances as we are traveling and I often say a prayer for the unknown person or persons. Several years ago, as I was on my way to work, I met an ambulance. That morning, I thought of my husband, who had left earlier to help a neighbor harvest his tobacco crop. I hadn’t been at work but a short time when the neighbor’s wife called. Her hesitation was immediately a red flag and
she was finally able to tell me that my husband had landed on an iron wagon tongue when a barn rail broke and he had fallen to the ground. He was being taken to a hospital 25+ miles away and I thought I would never get there! He suffered 7 broken ribs but God was good and his lungs weren’t punctured. I can’t begin to know how many ambulances I have seen in the years since this incident but I have never had that instinct again whenever I see an ambulance.

When I was due for my 7th baby. I had been in for non-stress tests, and I was in labor. They let me go home to see if I could get some rest, and I was to come in when I thought it was time. I slept great because contractions had stopped, but I just felt I should go in the next morning. His heart rate just wasn’t cooperating, and we ended up having a c-section to make sure he was safe. Everything turned out great!
The other Sunday, I was cooking turkey bacon and had to leave it for a minute to help my husband momentarily. My instinct said to take it off the burner, but I didn’t and wasn’t able to return as soon. It burnt!
Well, there have been various times when my “mother’s intuition” has come in very handy. When my oldest son, who is now 16, was 7 months old, he wasn’t acting like himself. He wasn’t displaying any symptoms of being sick, but I knew something wasn’t right. I took him to the doctor’s office, and he said that my son had RSV and would be hospitalized. He was in the hospital for a week! I’m so glad that I listened to my heart. 🙂

Seems like every time I forget my umbrella in the car and leave to go home it pours. If I remember it though it ends up being sunny by the time I go home.
I do a lot of reading especially Christian fiction. I’m very thankful for all of the Christian authors like you who write for the glory of God as well as to entertain readers and even help them in their walk with the Lord. I appreciate the fact that you have this contest which helps promote your book; but also blesses some fortunate people. So thank you for this opportunity.
Honestly, Christian to Christian I can tell you that intuition or instinct (which I really feel is either our spirit sensing things, or our spirit being communicated with by God), has both saved me many times to include my life. Then there are the times I have dismissed it thinking if I follow it, people will say it’s my imagination or that I am crazy; or I have “tested it” dismissing it as maybe a daydream or my imagination and disaster struck. This has also included dreams. The last major one I struggled with, I didn’t follow through and now I cannot walk and am in a wheelchair. My advice to others would be to not ignore that inner feeling. If you think you need to avoid a situation or action than do so. I think it says something larger though. I think it is a matter of whether I really place my faith and trust in God as I should. I am disappointed when I fail. But when I have listened and successfully interpreted that intuition, I praise the Lord for his protections or warnings that have saved me. Whether I have failed or succeeded at listening to his Holy Spirit who guides us in all truth, God has again demonstrated to me that “he is”, and “he cares” and he wants a personal relationship with me.
Where I live we say “that feeling” and whenever you get it ,you better go with it. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying a car or meeting someone for the first time ,always go with “that feeling”.
When I was a teenager we were traveling to take my mom to work in a distant town. And on the way I had like a flash that on this certain road there would be a car accident. I begged my dad not to take the road he always drove to Grove City, PA. And I was so adamant that he decided not to take that road. We had traveled maybe not even 5 minutes and it came across the radio that there had been an accident and it was on that road and right where I had seen it in that flash. The accident was on the news that night and when I saw the picture of it I knew that was what I had seen. I had things like this happen to me often over the years. And really strong sense not to do something or go somewhere.
And I have had times also where I swear someone is talking to me when I have prayed and then do my meditation. It is like I know what answer to my search and how to handle things. I know God has to be talking to me. And i feel him in nature very much so.
When I went thru a rough time and I would ask God to send someone my way that needed help that I could be there for them, He would send people to me. It started at 15 minutes, then 10 minutes then 5 minutes and now it is sooner.
I have certainly not paid attention to the nudges I’ve had, but don’t know that anything bad happened. But I do try to pay attention when I get ‘that’ feeling, and do whatever it is I’m prompted to do. Sometimes I’m not sure it’s God doing the prompting, but just my own will – that confuses me.
Following my intuition may well have saved my life! I had a stabbing pain in my breast which would come and go; however, there was no lump. My grandmother and aunt had both had breast cancer and I checked for lumps regularly. Although I am generally loathe to visit the doctor and usually have to be dragged kicking and screaming, I went to the local doctor. I was told that pain is not a symptom of cancer and there was no lump, but I was referred for a mammogram, though the doctors there once again insisted that pain was not a symptom of cancer. The mammogram showed that there was indeed some strange tissue in my breast, as yet too small to be felt. I was rushed off for a biopsy – it was confirmed as malignant. Interestingly, the very day the biopsy confirmed cancer and surgery was scheduled, the mysterious pain disappeared. When the surgeon opened me up, they discovered eight more tumours in my breast nodes. Ten months later with surgery, chemo and radiation done, I am recovering nicely and things are looking good. Ladies – trust your instincts!

I went to an Amusement park with the kids .
They decided they were hungry so we went snacking by the fast food cars and they were selling Cro-Nut Burgers , but instinct said we should eat the other fast foods . The next week we found that people who ate the cro nut burgers got food poisoning !!! It was on the News too .
I relied on my mother’s intuition when my daughter wasn’t feeling well and took her to the Urgent Care… turned out she had strep throat. I was so glad I didn’t wait longer since her throat only would have gotten worse!
