My little Seattle family was visiting last week. It was wonderful to have so much time with them–lots of funny moments. Here was one of our favorite outings…to the zoo!
Here’s one of pink flamingos. Such a curious bird! Big body on tiny stick legs. How does it not tip over?
Bird of Paradise flower. You can see how it got its name!
This gibbon kept everyone entertained! A total ham putting on a show. Loved it!
The baboons were fun to watch. Lots of little babies, monkeying around. Hence…the term.
The giraffes were so stately, slow moving, and graceful. One thing interesting about the zoo–so many female animal handlers! More than men. Have you ever noticed that?
As we headed to the elephant who was this close to the fence, we stopped for one minute, just one little minute, to look at the zebras…and when we turned back, the elephant had wandered away!
Tiger didn’t budge from his nap.
By week’s end, the weather turned hot enough that we could take them to our local pool for an end-of-the-day swim. That was probably Blake and Kaitlyn’s favorite outing of all.
Next time…I’ll bring extra water and an abundance of snacks. I’d forgotten the short attention span of preschoolers. Animals, too. They kept wandering off. But…it was a great outing. There is such variety in God’s kingdom!
