Penn Dutch Proverbs: Onion Soup


Proverb: Unne versucht, schmackt mer net, awwer’n Zwiwwlesupp riecht mer.

Translation: You can’t taste a thing unless you try it, but you can tell onion soup by the smell.

What it really means: If you don’t try, you won’t find out, but some things are obvious.
