Give Me the Simple Life: Water

This year, start small.

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the biggest impact. Rather than set a major goal that fizzles out by the end of January, commit to small things.

Drink more water. We’ve all been saturated (Pun! Sorry . . . couldn’t resist) by the media over the benefits of drinking more water—as much as 8 glasses a day. Water helps keep you hydrated, benefits your immune system, keeps your brain fully charged, helps to stave off depression, on and on. We get it! Still, drinking a lot of water each day isn’t that easy or enjoyable. Until…I received this as a gift:

The water tastes great (thank you, Brita!) and the bottle is easy to grab and drink throughout the day.

And I have to say, I do notice a difference in being fully hydrated—less tired, for one. And I sleep a little better . . . probably because I’m substituting water for coffee or tea.

Hey I did drink a lot of water but found a great recipe for cucumber water, takes a bit of getting use to flavor, but I cheat a bit sometimes and add a bit of tea. I lost 20 pounds or more since drinking, it aids in digestion, weight loss and heck, I just feel better too.
Cut one cucumber in slices, and one or two oranges, a lemon and a lime put all in a pourable container and fill with water, I use bottled water just seems to taste better let set in refrigerator overnight and replenish the water each time you pour a cup. I find peeling cucumbers is better as they are coated with a lot of wax, so eliminates the waxy taste. You may have to change the fruits out in a few days, especially the cucumbers, put I usually put a few slices in my glass and after drinking eat them. There are other variations of this using other fruits but I like the cucumber best. Good luck all on the free drawing. I love your books Suzanne, keep them coming!
