About Suzanne

Suzanne Woods Fisher writes bestselling, award winning fiction and non-fiction books about the Old Order Amish for Revell Books. Her interest in the Plain People began with her Old Order German Baptist grandfather, raised in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Suzanne's app, Amish Wisdom, delivers a daily Amish proverb to your phone or iPad. She writes a bi-monthly column for Christian Post and Cooking & Such magazine. She lives with her family in California and raises puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. To Suzanne's way of thinking, you can't take life too seriously when a puppy is running through your house with someone's underwear in its mouth.

  3. Donna J Krueger says:

I so admire the Amish people and their lifestyles. I have done a lot or research and I love to read books about the Amish. The authors that write about the Amish are at the top of my list to read. They have such a simple way of life, yet they truly know what matters the most. Their faith in God and their church and family is like none I have ever seen. In today’s busy pace and the world as it is, it is refreshing to know there is a peaceful people that exist as well as a peaceful way of life. I am very plain myself in a sense. Yes, I work everyday outside the home, however I can my own foods, garden, sew, read, wash my own dishes and hang out my clothes !! I chose to live this way even though it is hard sometimes at the end of the day to do things the simple natural way. I love the Amish in the fact that they support one another and they see the world for what it really is….too fast paced and hurried. I find myself running so much in one day, I chuckle and say to myself where are you going and for what???
Please keep writing about the Amish as this is the only way we are reminded of the way the lives of everyday people SHOULD be lived !!

  21. Oh!!!! I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!
I have to work on getting the addresses and phone numbers to the local libraries and call them because I am in a wheelchair and am unable to take the bus to actually ‘go’ to the libraries, plus the bus only goes to ‘1’ of them in the surrounding areas where I live. I have a neurological muscle disease and am unable to make a personal ‘visit’ to the library(s) on my own, which is why I’ll have to rely on the phone, but, it works!!! They ‘just’ started a NEW program for disabled adults to be able to get your doctor to write a letter stating we are disabled and cannot ‘go’ to the library and we are supposed to be able to pick out books online! Here’s my chance to use this service AND SUGGEST BOOKS!!! I’m excited about this!
Suzanne, I LOVE your writing!!! YOUR writing is my FAVORITE Amish writing! I wish you could write even MORE! LOL, right!
Your writing is NOT cookie-cutter style like it can be sometimes, and that is what I LOVE about your writing!!!
Tomorrow I am going to start doing all of this! It’s almost 3:00am right now!!! LOL!!! My hubby had to work overtime (he’s on Afternoons, and his overtime gets him home at about 2:50AM! I wait up for him, always! Besides, our canine doorbell would wake me if I did happen to snooze! LOL! She’s a SWEETIE!!!
Oh! I’m SO excited about this contest!!! ALL of us who enter are SO lucky you have done this contest for us! Thank you!
Thank you for offering this to us!!!! You can be ASSURED I WILL write a review on my Blog, on Amazon and post it on Goodreads, too!!!! (IF I were to win one!!! OH! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!)
    Laurie Carlson

  22. Sandra Houtz says:

  23. Kat Randolph says:

I will review any books that you right

  24. Linda Lewis says:

I’m not into all the newest means of communication, i.e., ipads, posting photos, tweeting, and I hate Facebook, etc. so a lot of the contests don’t apply to me, but I sure do enjoy reading your books. As long as you continue to publish them in book form, I’ll be able to enjoy them. Thank you for many hours of wonderful enjoyment!!
