A One-of-a-Kind UPS Delivery

Late on Monday afternoon, the doorbell rang, setting the dogs off on their typical bark-fest (labradors take their greeting responsibilities very seriously). I put them both outside and opened the door to the UPS delivery guy, who was grinning ear-to-ear.

And there, next to him…were six stacked boxes of books.

My book.

My Copper Star.

Just two and a half years ago, I was typing away on an antediluvian computer in our tiny laundry room–only a few feet from the front door. And at the door that afternoon was the end result of that labor.
Packaged, untouched, full of promise….like a pink bakery box tied in string.

Wow. What a feeling.
